Harold Lloyd’s ‘Safety Last’ (U) with live piano accompaniment by Neil Brand.

Screening on Saturday 8 February 2020 at 6:15pm, at St John’s Church, St John’s Road, Epping, CM16 5DN.

Harold Lloyd stars as a boy who leaves his small country town and heads to the big city to get a job. As soon as he makes it big his sweetheart, portrayed by Mildred Davis, will join him and marry him. His enthusiasm to get ahead leads to some interesting adventures!

As with our silent screening in February 2019, this film will be accompanied by world renowed pianist Neil Brand.  Neil has composed original scores for Alfred Hitchcock’s Blackmail, and Anthony Asquith’s Underground, both of which were performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

He is also the writer and presenter of the highly acclaimed BBC4 television shows The Sound of Cinema and The Sound of Song.  We’re absolultely delighted to welcome him back to Epping.

This event has been made possible with the generous support of Maggie and Victor Knope.

Please note that this screening will take place at St John’s Church, St John’s Road, Epping, CM16 5DN.  Tickets will be on sale from Saturday 7 December.
