Harold Lloyd’s ‘Speedy’ with Neil Brand live on Piano

Join us for our Silent Movie Special with Neil Brand at St John’s Church, Epping.

Harold “Speedy” Swift, a fan of American baseball legend Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees, loses his job as a soda-jerk (serving soda drinks in a drugstore), then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium. When the railroad company tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl’s grandfather) out of business, “Speedy” organizes the neighborhood old-timers to thwart their scheme.
Made in 1928, the film stars Harold Lloyd, Ann Christy and also features Babe Ruth, playing himself. A treat for one and all.

Screening on Saturday 4 February, at 7:00pm.  Doors open at 6:30pm.
